Kedleston welcome and nurture staff through the organisation’s training provision and seek staff who are motivated and focused in their delivery of the best education and care support. You will also need to contribute to buffets, salads, sandwiches and provide general assistance to the Chef.

Key tasks of the role (including but not limited to):

  • To plan, prepare, cook and serve food to meet the cultural needs and interests of the young people, staff, parents and visitors including breakfast and lunch
  • Cater for any special one off requirements including occasional school or home functions
  • Plan menus and take into account the needs as defined by the school and pupil ambassadors
  • To provide for the individual dietary needs of young people, families, staff and visitors
  • To ensure health and safety in the kitchen and adhere to food hygiene practices at all times
  • To manage the equipment in the kitchen and report any maintenance issues that may arise
  • To maintain up to date knowledge of special dietary requirements including food allergies
  • To ensure that the kitchen is always clean and fit for purpose
  • Promote effective waste management within the dining room and kitchen
