Teaching Assistant Apprentice

Duties include:

  • Assist teaching staff in the delivery of activities in all areas of pupil learning and development
  • Oversee and support pupils during unstructured times of the day
  • Under the direction of teaching staff and the SENDCO, provide input into the planning and evaluation of learning activities
  • Supervise the activities of individuals or groups of pupils both in and out of the classroom (including educational visits) to ensure their safety and facilitate their development in accordance with the school’s behavior management policy
  • Support completion of pupil support, plans and reviews
  • Liaise with, and receive information from parents, carers and teachers to ensure effective communication concerning the pupils’ wellbeing. Includes informal meetings with parents
  • Record pupil information, as specified by the teaching staff/line manager to ensure that schools’ information systems are maintained
  • Attend to the personal, social and physical needs of pupils, where required, so that their well being is maintained
  • Prepare and maintain learning equipment and ensure that the classroom is kept clean and tidy
  • Prepare displays, if required, to enhance the classroom environment and celebrate achievement
  • Attend staff and other meetings and participate in staff training development work and staff reviews as required
  • Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
  • To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be expected by the Head teacher, commensurate with grade and to comply with all whole school requirements in relation to health and safety, professional standards, dress code etc

  • Salary: £139.75 weekly wage
