AAT - Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting

The aim of this qualification is to enhance the skills developed in the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. You’ll look at professional accountancy and finance skills, including financial statements for limited companies, management accounting techniques, personal and business taxation.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have achieved the AAT Level 3 or a relevant Degree qualification.

On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements in more depth to ensure the course is right for you.

Course Content

During this course you will study three core units:

• Applied Management Accounting
• Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements
• Internal Accounting Systems and Controls

In addition to the core units, you must study two optional units. Units to be confirmed but include:

• Business Tax
• Personal Tax
• Credit and Debt Management

Assessment

All units are assessed by externally marked computer-based assessments. Learners must achieve a minimum of 70% in all assessments to achieve the qualification.

Progression

On successful completion of this course you will be entitled to exemptions from some units if you wish to go on to complete a chartered qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.

Additional Information

Additional help and support is available for you should you require it and this can be discussed at your admissions interview.

Due to the AAT being a professional awarding body, you will need to register with the AAT and pay a registration fee of £240 directly to the AAT within 4 weeks of joining the course.

You will also need to purchase text books that are approximately £130. You will be provided with a book list during the first week of the course.
