Immerse yourself in the vibrant gastronomy of Italy as our chef takes you on a culinary journey of the cuisine. In this course, our chef will teach you essential Italian techniques and apply them to make delectable risotto, traditional sauces and more. Drawing on the teachings of the Whites Chef Academy lecturers, students will experience traditional Italian cuisine, but the techniques learnt will apply across the breadth of world cuisine.
This class is a combination of demonstration and hands-on practice working individually. At the end of the class, you will take home what you have made, so be sure to bring along a bag and containers to the lesson.
No prior knowledge is required for this course, which is suitable for both novices and cooks with some experience.
Content of our 3-hour practical classes include:
• Pizza, Ragu and tomato-based sauces
• Risotto and arancini
• Tiramisu and Panforte
The learner can:
• Select correct tools and equipment used in the cooking of fresh Italian cuisine
• Apply appropriate cooking methods and principles to meat and fish
• Make sauces for Italian dishes
• Prepare dressings for meat and fish dishes
• Apply finishing skills to Italian dishes
• Assemble dishes according to dish specifications
• Demonstrate safe and hygienic practices
• Evaluate the finished dish/dishes
