This unit is designed for individuals who may encounter and require safety awareness of electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations).
This can include automotive technicians, managers, valeters, sales staff, events staff, fleet managers, vehicle recovery, vehicle dismantlers, vehicle damage assessors, insurance companies, hire companies, hydrogen vehicle owners or drivers and emergency services.
On this course, you will gain knowledge of the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles and the precautions to take to keep yourself safe and to avoid potential injury.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and learners are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however, an interest in the subject area is advisable.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
• Identify the different types of electric and hybrid vehicles
• Recognise the hazards associated with high-energy electrical systems in motor vehicles
• Understand the risks involved when working near electric and hybrid vehicles
• Apply safe working practices when operating around these vehicles
• Demonstrate awareness of safe procedures during electric/hybrid vehicle charging
This course is assessed by Q&A and demonstration of knowledge plus online test.
