This one-day course based over 2 evenings and is designed for practicing motor vehicle technicians, mechanics, and mobile air conditioning (MAC) specialists who need to gain or evidence the competence required by EU F-Gas regulations (EC842/2006 and Annex EC307/2008) to handle automotive refrigerants lawfully and safely.
To ensure competence regarding current F-Gas legislation and the environmental impact of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
There are no formal qualification requirements to enrol
Candidates must be working in a role that involves handling vehicle air-conditioning systems or refrigerants
This course is a legal requirement under EU and UK F-Gas regulations for any technician who works with refrigerant gases
This qualification provides the legally required certification for anyone handling automotive refrigerants, in line with current F-Gas regulations. It covers refrigerant recovery, recycling, recharging, and environmental best practices in vehicle air-conditioning systems.
The course consists of both theory sessions and hands-on practical workshop training, finalising with an online test and observed practical assessment

After this course you may consider the Level 2 car maintenance qualifications and develop your knowledge further.
