The Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare has been developed in collaboration with the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY).
This qualification prepares learners to set up a home-based childcare setting as a registered childminder.
It is suitable for learners who wish to be employed in home based childcare settings as childminding assistants or other home child carers (e.g. nannies, au pairs).
Gain the skills and experience needed for a rewarding career as a childminder, learning through classroom study and practical training.
Learners should be aged 18+
On successful completion of the course learners will gain the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare.
During this short course you will cover one mandatory unit and 2 optional units:
Preparing to work as a home-based child carer
Preparing to set up a home-based childcare business Exploring the role of the Nanny

The qualification is suitable for learners wishing to work as:
• Registered childminders
• Childminding assistants
• Nannies
• Au pairs
• Other child carers in home-based settings.
A paediatric first aid qualification is a requirement of registration for childminders.
Learners may wish to consider the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.
