FURTHER COURSE INFORMATION

Electric/Hybrid Vehicle course is for people working in the Automotive Industry meaning you will need to possess appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 3 and starting to work on high voltage side of electric/hybrid vehicles.

The content of this qualification has been designed to give you the knowledge and skills required to work safely on Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying out diagnostic, testing and repair activities. This may include vehicles that may have or had damage to their high energy/electrical system.

As well as gaining the qualification, you will also get free access to the IMI Professional Register with TechSafe registration. This shows your customers that you are a qualified professional.

Entry Requirements

Individuals interested in taking this course will need to have appropriate vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge and skills at level 3.

Course Content

This course contains two mandatory units – EV2.2 & EV3.

The EV2.2 unit covers all of the skills and knowledge from IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles Routine Maintenance Activities.

The EV3 Unit additionally covers skills in:
• Working safely on an electric/hybrid vehicle
• Using information to carry out the task
• Carrying out repairs on high energy electrical systems
• Recording information and making suitable recommendations

Assessment

A mixture of practical and online exam assessments will be used.

Progression

Now that you’re confident working on electric and hybrid vehicles in a safe and controlled manner, you're ready to take your skills to the next level.
Progress to the Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and repair of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles and components, where you'll learn advanced diagnosis and repair high-voltage systems and components.
