This one year course is designed for adults who are considering university but need to achieve GCSE English and/or maths first. If you are planning to progress to an Access to Higher Education course but do not yet have grade 4 (C) or above in English and/or maths, this programme will help you gain the qualifications, confidence and study skills needed to take the next step. Alongside GCSE English and/or maths, you will also complete a health related qualification, introducing key knowledge and skills to support progression into healthcare career pathways such as Nursing and Midwifery, Health and Social Care and Social Work.
You must demonstrate that you are working at Level 2 in English and/or maths through a college assessment. This course is for adults aged 19+ who intend to progress to a Level 3 Access to Higher Education course.
• GCSE English and/or Maths (depending on your current qualifications)

•Study skills to prepare for Level 3 Access courses, including research, academic writing and independent study
Assessment includes coursework, class activities, mock exams and final GCSE examinations. You will receive regular feedback and support throughout the course.

Successful completion can lead to a Level 3 Access to Higher Education course, progressing to university study in a range of subjects.
