The "Smartphone – Beyond the basics" course is designed to help individuals who have completed a beginners’ course or feel more confident with the basics — making calls, sending messages, and taking simple photos — but they want to do more without feeling overwhelmed.
This follow-up course is designed especially for older learners who want to build on what they already know at a gentle, enjoyable pace. The sessions will cover new skills like using apps, sharing photos, and staying safe online — all in a friendly, supportive environment.
Participants will learn how to set up and personalise their smartphones, explore essential apps and features such as communication tools
The course covers topics such as;
• Downloading and installing Apps (Inc. NHS App)
• Using Google Maps to plan journeys
• Taking, viewing and sharing photos
• Understanding the Cloud
By the end of the course, students will be able to use their smartphones more effectively and will have the confidence to explore further resources for ongoing learning and support.
