The UAL Level 2 Certificate in Photography is made up of the following units:
Unit 1: The Camera: (film & digital)
Unit 2: The Photographic Project (film or digital)
Unit 3: Lighting and Photography (film or digital)
Unit 4: Digital Imaging and Printing (digital)
Unit 5: Process Film and Print (film)
No formal qualifications are required. However, a keen interest in photography and a desire to begin investigating it as a creative process with a view to achieving the qualification. Ideally students should have their own SLR camera (film or digital) or be looking to acquire one during the early stage of the course. Students will be required to document and record their work in sketchbooks.
You will explore a varied range of techniques through studio-based workshops, lectures, projects, and visits. You will work with both digital and analogue photography techniques, as well as editing your imagery in Photoshop.
Assessment is on-going throughout the course culminating in exhibiting work in an end of year exhibition.

Who is it for?: The course is open to those with some previous experience who are wanting to continue investigating photography as a creative process. It is an accredited course and it is important that anyone embarking on the programme of study does so with a view to achieving the qualification. Students must want to pursue the qualification.
