This course provides an excellent and varied programme giving access to Higher Education or to a wide variety of Media Production careers. You will develop skills, knowledge and understanding in Creative Media Production and apply your learning in a practical and realistic way. If you have a keen interest in film and television, social media, radio practice and theory and a desire to follow a media-related career then this course is for you.
You will need to achieve; a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 and above including English and Maths and a creative-related qualification
or
A Level 2 qualification with a Merit in a related field (Including Maths and English)
Following your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.
You will study the following units:
• Introduction to media processes and technical skills
• Introduction to design and research skills in creative media production
• Introduction to professional practice in creative media production
• Critical and contextual awareness in creative media production
• Investigating audio production and technology
• Investigating visual production and technology
• Investigating interactive production and technology
• Developing a creative media production project
Units are assessed through a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration and assignment work. There are no external examinations. An overall grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction will be awarded on your final major project in your chosen specialist area.
GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications are assessed through external examination.

On completion of this course:
• You may progress into Higher Education to undertake a Degree in a Media related subject
• The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma is also valued by employers and can lead to career opportunities in the Creative Media industry such as cinematography, marketing, animation, or producer/researcher.
• Study an Apprenticeship in a creative field
