Overview

This course is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance. The purpose of this course is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or further study.

Please Note: Fees quoted for this course are for courses that started in September 2018 and are therefore subject to change for courses starting in September 2019.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required but a basic literacy and numeracy competence is essential.

On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements in more depth to ensure the course is right for you.

Content

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting covers a range of foundation accounting and finance skills in five mandatory units:

• Bookkeeping Transactions
• Bookkeeping Controls
• Elements of Costing
• Using Accounting Software
• Work Effectively in Finance

Assessment

Four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit assessments, in addition to this there is a synoptic assessment which draws on assessed knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.
