Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progressing either to employment in an accounting or finance role, or to enable progression to further study in accountancy and finance.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have achieved one of the following:
• AAT Level 2
• You can demonstrate a sound knowledge of double-entry book-keeping with relevant work experience
On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements in more depth to ensure the course is right for you.
Content
The course covers a range of accounting and finance skills in four mandatory units:
• Business Awareness
• Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
• Management Accounting Techniques
• Tax Processes for Businesses
Assessment
All four units are assessed individually in end-of-unit externally marked computer-based assessments.

Progression
Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to apply to study AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting.
Additional information
Additional help and support is available for you should you require it and this can be discussed at your admissions interview.
Due to the AAT being a professional awarding body, you will need to register with the AAT and pay a registration fee of £225 directly to the AAT within 4 weeks of joining the course.
You will also need to purchase text books that are approximately £120. You will be provided with a book list during the first week of the course and be expected to buy these immediately.
