Overview

This course will provide you with the skills to hold basic conversations in the target language and to understand simple pieces of literature.

Entry Requirements

No previous study of the language is required.

Content

You will learn to speak, write and understand the language by reading and
listening in a variety of situations which include:
• Talking about yourself
• Work and leisure
• Home and local area
• Travelling and sight-seeing
• Booking accommodation
• Eating Out
• Shopping

Assessment

Assessment of all four skills (i.e. reading, listening, speaking and writing) will take place informally throughout the year of study.

Awarding body

This is not an accredited course however the College will provide you with an Attendance Certificate at the end of each term.

After this course you may wish to progress on to the Year 2 Course

Additional information

You may like to bring a pad and pen should you wish to make notes.
For this course you will need to purchase a course text book. The tutor will inform you about the choice of text book during the first taught session.
