This course will provide you with the skills to hold basic conversations in the target language and to understand simple pieces of literature.
No previous study of the language is required although language skills will be developed over the course duration. Please speak to the tutor to assess your level and appropriate course.
You will learn to speak, write and understand the language by reading and listening in a variety of situations which can include:
• Talking about yourself
• Work and leisure
• Home and local area
• Travelling and sight-seeing
• Booking accommodation
• Eating Out
Tutor assessment of all four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing will take place informally throughout the year of study.
After this course you may wish to progress on to French Intermediate.
You may like to bring a pad and pen should you wish to make notes.
For this course you will need to purchase a course text book. The tutor will inform you about the choice of text book during the first session.
