The Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Business is designed around practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on learners demonstrating what they can do rather than what they know in theory. The qualification gives learners the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable and sector-specific skills in order to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables them to progress to further learning.
For this course you will need to have achieved:
• A minimum of 3 GCSEs Grade 2/F or above
On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.

Alongside your main programme of study you will also study either GCSE or Functional Skills in English and Maths if you have not achieved a GCSE grade 4/C or above.
All work on this qualification is internally assessed.

Present information that they have gathered
Keep working logbooks, records and reflective journals
Practise English and mathematical skills
Take part in oral or written presentations
Take part in role play, interviews and other activities
GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications are assessed through external examination and portfolio work.
On successful achievement of this course you may wish to:
• Apply to study the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate Business
• Enter a business related career such as administration, finance, customer services, sales, ICT,
accounting or personnel
