Overview
This course is a provides an excellent and wide-ranging programme which will enable you to develop the skills required to progress onto a range of Higher Education programmes, apprenticeship pathways or to becoming an Entrepreneur! You will develop skills, knowledge and understanding in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship and have the opportunities apply your learning in a practical and realistic way.
Entry Requirements
For this course you will need to have achieved one of the following:
• 5 GCSE’s Grades 4-9, including English and maths.
• A Level 2 qualification (e.g. BTEC Level 2) in a Business related subject at Merit grade or above and Grade 4-9 in English and maths.
On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.
Content
During this course you will study a total of twelve units. Eight mandatory units will provide a general foundation and four specialist units will introduce you to particular topics in more depth.

• Developing a Marketing Campaign
• Personal and Business Finance
• Launch and Run an Enterprise
• Survival and Growth
• Business Decision Making
• Principles of Management
• Developing an Enterprise Strategy
Specialist units will include:
• Recruitment and Selection Process
• Developing an Enterprise Strategy
• Social Enterprise
• Innovation and Enterprises
Assessment
The Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship units are assessed through examinations and coursework. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and then an overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* is awarded on completion

On successful achievement of this course you may wish to;
• Apply to study a Higher Education course such as an HNC/D or a Degree in Business or a Business-related subject
• Pursue career opportunities in Business specialisms such as Management, Marketing, Human Resources and Finance
• Apply for a Higher Apprenticeship in a business-related field.

You will have the opportunity to take part in educational and industrial visits during your course programme. Possible visits may include Co-operative Bank, Petty Pool, Alton Towers and The Trafford Centre. The costs for these will need to be paid prior to each trip.
