The Level 3 in Aerospace Engineering is a nationally recognised work-related qualification, which encompasses mechanical and electrical elements designed to give you a good start on your journey to a career in Aerospace Engineering. The course is based wholly around assignment led units that are aligned to realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course will introduce you to and prepare you for the world of work.
This course provides a good basis to progress onto a Level 4 qualification, such as a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Diploma (HND). Alternatively, it can help you gain an apprenticeship in your desired discipline.
For this course you will need to have achieved one of the following:
• Grade 5 in Maths and a minimum of 3 other GCSE’s at grades C/4 or above including English and a science.
• Level 2 qualification in an Engineering related subject and a in 4 GCSE Maths.
On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.
During this course you will study a variety of topics that include general engineering as well as aeronautical elements:
During the course you will carry out a number of internally assessed assignments. You will have the opportunity to produce a work-related project that will allow you to creatively use the skills you have learnt.
On successful achievement of this course you may wish to:
* Apply to study a Level 4 qualification such as a Foundation Degree or Higher National here at the College or at University
* Pursue a range of employment opportunities/apprenticeships within the aeronautical field.

You will require a pair of overalls and safety shoes/boots for workshop sessions which will be discussed at interview.
