Overview

Do you dream of a career managing and planning events including conferences, concerts, sporting events, music festivals or weddings? Then this is the perfect course for you.

Our brand-new academy will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in this exciting industry whilst studying in a unique environment, the Stockport County Football Club.

Entry Requirements

For this course you will need to have achieved one of the following:

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade 3 or above
• A Level 1 qualification (e.g. BTEC Level 1 Diploma) with Functional Skills English at Level 1 or above

On receipt of your application to study this course you will be invited to attend an admissions interview with a member of the teaching team to discuss the course and its requirements further.

Content

During this course, you will study 5 units:

Unit 01 Planning an event
Unit 02 Event review and evaluation
Unit 03 Market research and marketing methods in event planning
Unit 04 Human resource planning at events
Unit 05 Communication and customer service at events

Alongside your main programme of study, you will also study either GCSE or Functional Skills in English and Maths if you have not achieved a GCSE grade 4 or above.

Assessment

All of the units in the Event Planning course are assessed through portfolio work.

GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications are assessed through external examination and portfolio work.

Progression

On completion of your Level 2 in Event Management at the academy you could choose to progress onto:

• A paid apprenticeship with one of our high calibre employers where you will be organising conferences, leisure or hospitality events
• Study a level 3 Qualification in Events Management
