Macclesfield College has been celebrating the College’s end of year results.

Attended by local MP, David Rutley, the celebrations highlighted the outstanding progress the College has made, in recording its best ever results across all levels. Many students have moved on to continue their studies at a higher level, following their successful results at Macclesfield College whether at university, with the College or in a variety of employment/ training opportunities.

David congratulated students on their impressive results at the well-attended event held at Macclesfield College’s student run Silk Room Restaurant.

David commented: “I extend my warmest congratulations to all students and staff at Macclesfield College on a fantastic set of exam results. It was great to have the opportunity to celebrate this success, and staff and students should be proud of their achievements.

“The College does invaluable work to support people in Macclesfield, at whatever stage of their career, to make the most of their learning and career opportunities. I would encourage other local residents interested in enrolling on a course to get in touch with the College to find out more.”

Macclesfield College students have achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in a range of vocational courses across the board. This firmly cements the college as one of the regions leaders, with a gateway to higher education and employment. They are also leading the way for local apprenticeships and have developed strong and well-established relationships with local employers.

Rachel Kay, Principal and Chief Executive of Macclesfield College said: “We’re extremely pleased with the progress we have made as a college. Our students have performed exceptionally well and we look forward to continuing this trend. We have achieved the best in Cheshire for student satisfaction and employer engagement which is down to our hard work and commitment to young people in the area.

“We also feel a responsibility to our local community and the young people within it to continue developing our apprenticeship programme across a wide range of sectors. We have some great plans for the programme, which involve the continued nurturing of relationships with local businesses.

“Our ambition is to become the areas number one training provider and we’re well on our way to achieving this.”
