Macclesfield College are delighted to be teaming up with Macclesfield Town Football Club for the 2018/2019 season as the Silkmen make their return to League Two of the English Football League (EFL).
The partnership will see Macclesfield College feature on the back of the team’s first kit for all EFL games, be represented on a pitch side advertising board throughout the whole season and also appear in each edition of the club’s match day programme.
On top of this, Macclesfield Town have also given the College ten U25 season tickets to be awarded to students, with more details set to be revealed in due course.
Announcement of the partnership follows on the back of The Silkmen holding a career event at Macclesfield College during June’s Open Day, when visitors had the chance to have their picture taken with the Vanarama National League trophy.
It’s an exciting time for the town’s football team following promotion last season when thousands lined the streets of Macclesfield to celebrate the club’s title win, and Rachel Kay, Principal and Chief Executive of Macclesfield College, is delighted with the new partnership.
“Both Macclesfield College and Macclesfield Town Football Club are starting a new chapter this August and we’re both on an upward curve.
“It’s brilliant to see the town’s football team doing so well on the pitch and our new partnership will help give the College even more exposure. We’re hoping the team have another great season and a really good run in the FA Cup would give Macclesfield some great promotion.
“Here at Macclesfield College we’re always looking at ways in which we can support, promote and work with local organisations, businesses and communities and we’re looking forward to our relationship with Macclesfield Town growing and flourishing in the coming months.”
This positivity has been reinforced by the management team at MTFC who have expressed their delight in the new partnership:
“We’re so pleased to be able to announce this partnership with Macclesfield College. It’s so important for us to partner with successful organisations and this partnership with the go-to place for school leavers and adult learners gives us just that.”
They added, “Macclesfield College have recognised the commercial benefit of linking up with the Football Club and I’m sure this will be a successful partnership, and one that will be of great benefit to both parties.”
Both the College and the team are looking forward to Macclesfield Town Football Club’s first home game this Saturday at Moss Road Stadium.
