At Macclesfield College, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and supportive environment to allow our students to grow and succeed while they study with us. One of the ways that we do this is by awarding a student every month to celebrate their hard work.
The Student of the Month is an award given to a deserving student that is nominated by a member of staff for their hard work, positive attitude and passion for their subject. The winner of the student of the month is awarded a certificate and voucher, presented to them by our Vice Principal, Dr Lucy Reed.
Harry Tomlinson, a Level 3 Computing student took the title of Student of the Month for September. Lauren Ayari, Curriculum Business Leader for Business, Computing and Accounting spotted Harry as a star pupil. Lauren commented “He has been so welcoming to new arrivals that his group feels more like a second year group than a first.” She added “It’s made a huge difference to the work rate of our late starters”.
Linnea Boxer, a Level 3 Art and Design student has been awarded the Student of the Month for October. Lee Burgess, Curriculum Business Leader for Art and Design, saw Linnea’s hard work and felt she was deserving of the title. Lee commented “Linnea is a conscientious student with excellent attendance (100%) and punctuality. All of her work is up to date and to an excellent standard. She engages with all projects, tries hard, does well and is making excellent progress towards her predicted Distinction outcome.”
Well done to our Students of the Month for September and October, we cannot wait to see who claims the award for November!
