Macclesfield College is pleased to announce the appointment of Ceri Johns as the new Chair of Governors, succeeding Mark Sharples, who will be stepping down after 10 years of dedicated service as both a Board Member and Chair.
Ceri Johns brings over 23 years of extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, with a distinguished career that includes roles at prestigious organisations such as PwC and Manchester City Council. As a qualified chartered accountant and Public Sector Consultant for KPMG, Ceri possesses a wealth of expertise in financial commercial leadership and has spearheaded significant transformation projects throughout her career.
Throughout her tenure, Ceri has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, fostering relationships with clients across various sectors including Local and Central Government, Utilities, Health, Housing, Higher Education, Transport, Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism. Her ability to challenge existing processes, identify opportunities, and drive solutions has earned her recognition as a highly effective leader in financial transformation.
In her new role as Chair of Governors, Ceri Johns will play a pivotal role in steering Macclesfield College towards its strategic objectives, ensuring it remains at the forefront of educational excellence. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, Ceri aims to build upon the College’s successes and further enhance its impact on the lives of learners and the wider community.
