What you will study

In Public Services, you will cover a variety of key areas, including preparing for a career in a chosen uniformed service, developing aspects of physical fitness for entry to the uniformed services and honing leadership skills.

Progression

Upon completing one of our Public Services courses, you’ll develop a solid understanding of your career options and move on to higher qualifications in the field.

This pathway prepares you for further qualifications needed to become a police officer, firefighter, paramedic or military service member. Additionally, you may choose to advance your education to progress in your chosen uniformed service or transition into roles that significantly contribute to public safety and community wellbeing.

Level 2

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
4 x Grade 3s

Progression:
Upon completing this level, you can advance to a Level 3 Diploma or start an apprenticeship.

Level 3

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
5 x  Grade 4-9s including maths Or English

Progression:
Upon completing this level, you can advance to University or a Higher Level Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship

Explore apprenticeship opportunities with public services such as the Royal Navy or the Police.

Throughout your Public Services course, you'll engage with industry professionals through regular guest talks, offering valuable insights to enhance your learning experience. You'll also have opportunities to visit key organisations such as The Middlewich Custody Suite, The Fire Station, Army Look at Life, Army Personal Development Course, Crown Court, as well as attend university and UCAS events (these visits may be subject to change).

Katrina blossomed into a confident and hardworking individual, demonstrating a strong commitment to her studies and her future.

She showed unwavering determination, with excellent attendance and a genuine passion for supporting her peers.

Katrina is now in the process of applying to join the police force and we are excited to see her continue to excel in her career within the Public Services industry.
