Macclesfield College Celebrates Employer of the Year Award Nomination

Macclesfield College was delighted to attend the East Cheshire Chamber Annual Business Awards on Friday evening (20 March), where it was named as an award nominee for Employer of the Year 2026.

The award recognises organisations that demonstrate excellence in creating a positive working environment, alongside a strong commitment to staff development, wellbeing and inclusion. Being recognised as a nominee is a significant achievement and reflects the College’s continued investment in its people and culture.

Although the College did not take home the award on the night, this recognition marks an important milestone and is a testament to the dedication, passion and professionalism of colleagues across the organisation.

At the heart of Macclesfield College is its mission of empowerment through learning, supported by values of accountability, ambition, integrity, passion and respect. This values-led approach has created a culture where colleagues feel supported, trusted and motivated to succeed.

Through a strong focus on professional development, wellbeing initiatives such as the “New Way of Working” and a commitment to employee voice, the College continues to build an inclusive and high-performing workplace.

Marie Sheehan-Slade, Director of HR & Culture, said:
“We are incredibly pleased to have been recognised as an award nominee for Employer of the Year. This reflects the genuine commitment we have made to creating a culture where people feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, and this recognition belongs to them.”
