Macclesfield College Successfully Maintains Matrix Accreditation

Macclesfield College is delighted to announce that we have successfully retained our prestigious Matrix Accreditation. This award recognises the high quality of advice and guidance we provide to our students and the local community.

The Matrix Accreditation is a national standard for information, advice and guidance (IAG), It highlights our dedication to supporting students in planning their next steps in education, training and careers. The recent assessment report praised our commitment, noting that “Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is central to the College Mission to provide inspirational education and to provide first-class teaching, learning and training to all students to ensure they are fully prepared to make informed decisions about their education, training and career pathway.”

The report also commended the opportunities our students have to engage with employers and industry professionals, stating, “Students also experience a range of encounters with employers and industry professionals and work experience opportunities, linked to their programme and career goals.”

Our partnerships and networking efforts were also praised. The assessor noted that “Partnership and networking on a very large and effective scale ensures the achievement of college aims and strategies. Links with feeder schools raises awareness of pupils of College as a potential next step and of careers leads, ensuring their advice is up-to-date and relevant. Links to employers offer enrichment, progression and apprenticeship opportunities to students. These links, alongside membership of key strategic networks, help inform the development of the curriculum to align with skills needs.”
