What you will study

Upon completing our Carpentry and Joinery programme, you’ll have various paths for advancement. You can pursue higher education, undertake apprenticeships or enter directly into professional roles within the construction industry.

You may choose to start building your career as a sole trader, giving you the opportunity to launch your own business in Carpentry and Joinery. Whether you aim to work for a company or establish your own enterprise, the skills you acquire will set you up for success in this dynamic field.

Level 1

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
Grade 2 in maths & English

Progression
Upon completing this level, you can advance to a Level 2 Diploma or start an apprenticeship.

Level 2

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
4 x grade 3s,
Level 1 in occupational trade qualification or equivalent

Progression:
Upon completing this level, you can start an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship

Progress onto an apprenticeship such as:
Craft Carpentry and Joinery
Senior Construction Technician
Furniture Restorer
Bespoke Furniture Maker
Progression:
Upon completing, you can advance to University or a Higher Level Apprenticeship.

Higher Education

Complete further education in site management or health and safety.


Self Employment:
Become self-employed and set up your own business.
