Overview

The Business Pathway offers three key programs:

Computer Science, Business Studies and Applied Law.

Computer Science focuses on Computer Systems, Algorithms and Programming, with practical experience in various programming languages, databases, networks, cyber security and computer architecture.
Business Studies focuses on essential business functions, emphasising analysis and strategic decision-making across various organisational contexts.
Applied Law explores the English legal system, with training in legal reasoning, problem-solving and constructing legal arguments.

SPORT PATHWAY

Overview

The Sports Pathway offers three key programs:

Biology, Sports Coaching and Business Studies.

Biology builds on GCSE concepts, developing transferable skills through the study of core biological topics and exploring social, medical and environmental aspects.
Sports Coaching covers scientific themes related to sports and exercise, with modules in Anatomy, Physiology, Sports Nutrition and Coaching techniques.
Business Studies focuses on essential business functions, emphasising analysis and strategic decision-making across various organisational contexts.

CREATIVE PATHWAY

Overview

The Creative Pathway consists of three key programs:

English Literature and Language, Film Studies and Art and Design.

English Language and Literature offers a rich exploration of both fields, including the study of a novel, biography, and various plays.
Film Studies involves an in-depth analysis of film as an art form, fostering critical thinking and evaluation skills while addressing issues like representation of race and gender. This program also includes a creative production component.
Art and Design encourages investigation, analysis, and creativity across various mediums, such as media, photography, and installation art, with a strong emphasis on developing essential drawing skills and creative interpretation.

SOCIAL SCIENCES PATHWAY

Overview

The Social Sciences Pathway offers three key programs:

Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.

Psychology explores the causes of human behaviour, examining various theoretical approaches to understanding who we are and how we act.
Sociology studies people in society, focusing on social phenomena like education, family structures and religious beliefs through discussion and debate.
Criminology delves into the study of crime, exploring types of crime, public perceptions and the reasons behind criminal behaviour, as well as why some crimes go unreported.

What ARE A LEVELS

A Levels are advanced qualifications that you study after your GCSEs. They help prepare you for university, further education or the job market. With a range of subjects to choose from, A Levels allow you to focus on what interests you most and build a strong foundation for your future.

HOW A LEVELS WORK

COURSE STRUCTURE

A Levels are a two-year programme divided into AS Level
(first year) and A2 Level (second year). In AS Level, you’ll
focus on foundational topics through a mix of lectures
and practical exercises. The A2 Level builds on this with
more advanced content, refining your knowledge and
analytical skills. Final exams at the end of the A2 year
determine your overall A Level grade.

STUDY AND COMMITMENT

A Levels require a strong commitment to both classwork and independent study. You’ll need to balance lectures, discussions and assignments with self-directed learning. Developing good study habits and time management skills will help you stay organised and meet the demands of the programme.

ASSESSMENT AND EXAMS

Assessment is a combination of exams, coursework and practical assignments, depending on the subject. AS exams focus on foundational topics, while A2 exams assess your understanding of more complex material.
