Our Applied Science course will help you develop your knowledge and understanding in a practical and realistic way, whilst ensuring that you gain the scientific skills employers are looking for. Our Applied Science course is ideal for those interested in a career as a technician, laboratory assistant, chemical scientist, or forensics specialist working alongside the Police. You will study in modern, purpose-built laboratories which are well-equipped with the latest resources, enabling you to develop your core research and analysis skills.

Why study here?

At Macclesfield College we equip you with a board range of scientific topics so that you can prepare for higher education or to work in industry. Our science course has fantastic links with companies include AstraZeneca and the NHS. Students will benefit from industry expert guest speakers (such as embalmers).

Working with local public services such as the Macclesfield Fire Service completing a mock forensic fire investigation. Our well-trained teachers bring biology to life with their industry knowledge of science and health care. They excel at bringing the health industry into science classrooms.
