We provide subsidised bus travel for full time students aged 16-19 at a cost of £400 per academic year (2025-26 rates). There are two options available depending on where you live, making it easy and affordable to get to Macclesfield College.
For the academic year 2025/26 the subsidised cost is £400 per year unless you qualify for the bursary where this cost can be covered. Payments can be made fully at enorlment or spilt into 2 payments September (£250) and February (£150)*. All students must reapply whether they are returning or new to the college to guarantee travel.
Applications links to apply for the college bus will be sent out after the student has fully enrolled. *Payment does not guarantee the right to travel – it is the student’s responsibility to apply for a pass. If the student does not have a valid pass they will note be permitted to travel.
Please note that where a contract service exists for your home area, this is the only service that the College will subsidise for you. No support is provided for students living within 3 miles of the College.
All transport information is correct for 25/26 at the time of producing; however, routes and pick -up points may be reassessed at any time for operational and efficiency requirements.

Please note your bus pass will be included with your student ID badge on your first day or printed later in the year, depending on when you apply. You will be allowed to travel the first week of the College without your ID until you have received it.
