What is an apprenticeship?

A full-time job - all Apprentices are employed by a company where they will gain hands-on experience and expertise

Qualification – the apprentice will also study for a qualification at the same time as working. They may come into College once a week or they may study completely in the workplace.

Salary – An apprentice earns a salary.  Like any type of job role, the amount of money earned will depend on the employer.

What level of apprenticeship can I study and in what industry sector?

There are a wide range of apprenticeships for you to choose from starting at level 2 all the way up to level 6.

How long does it take to complete my apprenticeship?

The length of an apprenticeship depends on the job you’re doing, your age and how much experience you have.

How is an apprenticeship programme delivered?

Apprenticeships can be delivered through a variety of methods including a blend of one-to-one support, online training, College workshops and self-directed study. We will work with you and your employer to develop an individualised learning plan that works for you.

How long will I study for my apprenticeship?

The length of your apprenticeship will depend on the job that you are doing, the standard that you are working towards and how much previous experience you have.

How many hours a week will I work?

To be recognised as an apprentice you must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per-week.

How do I apply for an apprenticeship?
