After a series of talks at Macclesfield College by Glossop Mountain Rescue, the team’s Fundraising Officer, Meg Tannett, approached the Carpentry & Joinery students with a special request: to design and build a compact, attractive, lightweight, portable, and weatherproof merchandise display case.
The students eagerly accepted the challenge, quickly brainstorming and drafting multiple designs. They meticulously worked through each design aspect, eventually creating a full-sized model of the chosen concept. Utilizing recycled materials and their new dimension saw, the students crafted the display case to perfection.
Finished with a coat of paint and official stickers, the display case was ready just in time for a fundraising event in Glossop. Meg Tannett, upon seeing the final product, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This is awesome and exactly what we needed. It will protect our merchandise from the weather and help us raise valuable funds for the voluntary team. A big thank you to the Carpentry & Joinery students for all your help. It looks amazing!”
This collaboration highlights the skill and dedication of Macclesfield College’s Carpentry & Joinery students and their contribution to the community.
