Funding an Apprentice

You can get help from the government to pay for apprenticeship training. The amount you get depends on whether you pay the apprenticeship levy or not.

What is an apprentice?

Apprentices are aged 16 or over and combine working with studying to gain skills and knowledge in a specific job.Apprentices can be new or current employees.

Apprenticeships must last at least a year and can last up to 5 years depending on the level the apprentice is studying.

How do apprentices learn?

Apprentices learn through a combination of on and off the job training. By working alongside your staff as they work towards nationally recognised qualifications, they become a valued member of the team, emersed in the business’ operations and culture.

Off the job they work. Lessons are conducted at the workplace or at Macclesfield College of Further and Higher Education, depending on requirements.
