Our Art & Design courses offer a dynamic and engaging experience for creative minds. You'll start with drawing and painting, then move on to 3D design and ceramics, exploring various materials and techniques. Dive into graphic design, digital imaging and photography, using industry-standard tools to create stunning visuals.

What you will study

Bricklaying at the College means engaging in practical, industry focused learning. You'll cover essential skills such as safe construction practices, effective communication and various building methods. Practical experience includes brick and block laying, cavity wall construction and setting out masonry structures up to damp course level.

Career

Progression

Upon finishing one of our bricklaying courses, you’ll find various paths for advancement, such as pursuing higher education at university, undertaking apprenticeships or entering directly into professional roles within the construction industry.

Start your career in roles such as bricklayer or masonry supervisor and advance to positions like construction project manager or construction site supervisor, with potential for competitive salaries in leadership roles within the construction industry.

Level 1

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
Mostly grade 2s maths & English

Progression:
Upon completing this level, you can advance to a Level 2 Diploma or start an apprenticeship.

Level 2

Minimum GCSE Entry Requirements:
4 x grade 3s,
Level 1 in occupational trade qualification or equivalent

Progression:
Upon completing this level, you can start an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship

Progress onto an apprenticeship such as:
Craft Bricklayer
Construction Support Technician
Construction Site Supervisor
Construction Quantity Surveying Technician
Progression:
Upon completing, you can advance to University or a Higher Level Apprenticeship.

Higher Education

Complete further education in site management or health and safety.

Self Employed
Become self-employed and set up your own business.
