The purpose of this course is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progressing either to employment in bookkeeping and finance, to improve skills in running businesses or to enable progression to further study.
You will need to have achieved one of the following:
• AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping or Accounting
• You can demonstrate a sound knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping with relevant work experience
The course covers a range of bookkeeping and accounting skills in two mandatory units:
• Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
• Tax Processes for Businesses
Both units are assessed individually in end-of-unit externally marked computer-based assessments.

Upon successful completion of this course, you may wish to apply for AAT Bookkeeping membership (AATQB) and apply to become an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper
Additional help and support is available for you should you require it and this can be discussed at your admissions interview.
Due to the AAT being a professional awarding body, you will need to register with the AAT and pay a registration fee of £65 directly to the AAT within 2 weeks of joining the course.
You will also need to purchase text books that are approximately £50. You will be provided with a book list during the first week of the course and be expected to buy these immediately.
