The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions and how to assess and give constructive feedback.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you should be considering a subject or area of expertise that you can teach, and ideally have relevant experience or hold (or be working towards) a qualification in that subject.
As this is a Level 3 qualification, you should also have the ability to study at this level. This includes being able to read and understand written information, complete written assignments clearly and coherently, and organise your work effectively. Your suitability for the course will be discussed as part of the enrolment and initial assessment process.
Candidates who successfully complete this qualification will gain an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions and how to assess and give constructive feedback.
There is no examination. Candidates will be assessed on both theoretical and practical assignments.
Candidates will be observed in practice by conducting one ‘micro teach’ (short teaching session) as part of their course.
