Course Content

Joining Whites Chef Academy provides you with a culinary education, setting you up for a successful career in the food industry. At our Academy, you'll dive into essential topics such as maintaining food safety, handling and cleaning knives and preparing meat and poultry.

You'll also learn to make soups, stocks and sauces, work with vegetables and create both hot and cold desserts, amongst many other things. Alongside your practical work, you’ll complete assessments as you progress through the Academy.

Assessment

You will be assessed within the Whites Chef Academy restaurant where you will build a portfolio of evidence practically; each unit will have an element of written underpinning knowledge questions which will be electronically completed as the programme progresses.

English and Maths qualifications are assessed through external examination.

Progression

On completing your training at Whites Chef Academy, you will gain a clear understanding of your career options and have the opportunity to advance onto an apprenticeship with one of our partner employers.

This next step allows you to specialise in areas like advanced cooking techniques, pastry and dessert preparation or culinary management and explore roles such as sous chef, pastry chef or restaurant chef. Our Academy provides you with the skills and experience needed to thrive in the culinary industry, setting you up for success in a variety of professional kitchen environments.

Upon completing this level 1, you can advance to a Level 2 Diploma or start an apprenticeship.

Upon completing this level 2, you can advance to a Level 3 Diploma or start an apprenticeship.
